I think it's the lymph nodes, but not quite sure. Whenever I touch that certain area behind my ear and in front of it (like on my jaw bone kind of) it's rather painful and tender. Same with my my underarms, painful when I touch a certain spot. I'm feeling perfectly fine, no flu or virus or such. I am however, on my period, but I don't know if that might be the cause. As I recall, I have had the same pain in the ear area a few months ago and it went away after a few days. They don't look swollen, but feel a little like it. What could be causing this?

You definately have an infection going on and probably need to get to the doctor to play it safe. Your lymph nodes are just doing their job. Stop touching them since they can be damaged never reducing back to the original size. Having to be removed surgically.
more information might help to see if anyone has related symtpoms or stories. when did it start? how often does it happen? eat anything? do any drugs? gone to the gym? have any diseases? any other noticeable symptoms not normal?
