I am looking for a french language school to enroll in when I move to Paris next year.
This is what i am looking for in the language school:
-actually in PARIS
-run by French people, not an american or international school like accord
-has prestige or is well known (eg. Sorbonne, Alliance Francaise, L'Etoile)
-has accomodations other than host families. Basically I am looking for a dorm type environment. I do not want to live alone.
-I will be attending the school for at least 6 months..sept thru march...that needs to be taken into consideration
Basically, I need to learn to speak French fast. this is my gap year before going to college. I need a language school, with dorming, that is a good school.
Also, I mentioned above three schools(Sorbonne, Alliance Francaise, and L'etoile) if anyone knows anything about these schools or if I can get long term student accomodation during the year that would be so helpful.
I appreciate your help, I can't tell you how grateful I am.
Thank you!

In Paris, there's no boarding language school. The best is to study at L'Alliance Française or at the Sorbonne University but this means either living with a host family or on your own (flat). If you share a flat with other students, you'll speak English with them.
I've seen one boarding French school in Normandy, "Ecole des Roches", I suppose it's not the only one.

Otherwise, there are boarding language schools in Switzerland (Lausanne & Geneva).
Good luck in your research.
For this type of question, people always suggest the same ones (the three you mentioned), and I've taken classes there, but I think it's a very standard/typical formation. If you are looking for something to really teach you French, I would suggest Nouqa Langues, a school I took a French class at for almost 6 months (and very much enjoyed). It's specialised in languages and it shows, they teach university students, employees who need to learn a certain language for work, children. It's a mixed bunch but a very high quality establishment, and located right in the west of Paris.
When I was there they had two sites, here's the children's one if you want : www.nouqa.com/
I'd give them a call or email because if you have a certain theme you want to study as well (for example, I took art and history themed French courses) they are spectacular. They do trips in France and abroad and could probably find you housing, though it's not easy to do in Paris, btw...
Good luck with your move!
I cant really help but start learning before you come in paris
You can find a language partner for free and go in Polyglot Parties on this website: http://www.polyglotparty.com/
Or/and take some private online classes with native teachers on this other website: http://www.lingueo.com/our-trainings/languages-cla...
