my teacher left my whole class completely lost this morning. He assigned practice problems, but I don't even know where to start. I would learn from the book. but the only book for this class is a workbook. Please help! It says:
The average car today weighs 3510 pounds, and when accelerating from rest, covers 0.250 mile in 15.0 seconds. Determine the cars average velocity, final velocity, and average acceleration for the trip.

Okay so first set your given information:
mass = 3510 lb
distance = 0.250 miles
time = 15.0 seconds
Dividing the distance by the time will give you the average velocity of the car:
d/t=v
0.250/15.0= ? miles/second
See if that helps.
