Problem with windows sound recorder?

I'm trying to record guitar using Microsoft sound recorder, but every recording I do plays back in MIDI music. Whether I record from a mic or a cable, it is also very staticy, I was wondering if there may be a sound driver I'm missing or something?

Hi...

Windows sound recorder has a very low sample rate , its ok for talking but not for music....

Audacity is a good recorder for free ....

attempt re setting up from upload/get rid of classes and choosing upload/get rid of abode windows factors. i'm no longer useful if that's gonna artwork or no longer---and also you'll always get it from ur installtion CD.
