I am bi-polar and on Epilim 1000. I have been on Epilim for 2 months now and picked up 7kg's. I have just started the High -Protein diet and would like to know whether anyone with dietary experience knows if this is the best diet to be on with Epilim. I have read low protein and high fat... The best one is the paleo diet where most grains are avoided. It's essentially a protein and fat based diet that includes lots of healthy vegetables. It seems that many mental conditions are exacerbated by grains. Specifically, our body's intolerance to the protein that binds the carbohydrates in grains. One of which is gluten. There are others, but the bottom line is, most people's bodies are not well equipped to deal with grains. Especially, the refined ones which are missing a lot of essential nutrients necessary to help utilize the carbs contained within those grains.
