This morning I got up with my 10 month old daughter, and one of her eyes was caked shut with that nasty eye junk...
I used a warm washcloth to get it off...
But all day it keeps showing back up in the inside corner of her eye! I keep wiping it away but another 30 minutes or so its back again...
What is it? Worth a dr visit?
What should I do about it, if anything!
Thanks (:

Sounds like a blocked tear duct or a mild eye infection. Put some breast milk in it 4-5 times a day and it will clear up in a few days.
my baby had the same problem and the solution is simple anatomy. the tear duct is clogged, common in newborns. massage the duct by gently massaging around the top of eyebrow and inner corner of eye. i did this a few x a day with my daughter and it cleared right up. it came back a few x and just repeated more of the same. never needed drops.
Elyse's momma? are you serious? lol
sounds like your baby has an eye cold. You should take her to the Doctor just in case it's not though. If its not an eye cold it could either be a blocked tear duct just some sleepy eye. Nothing to really worrie about. Good LUCK.
Eye gunk is caused by the tear ducts clogging up. It does not need medical treatment. You can just wipe it like you decribed and eventully it will go away. It also helps for your baby to cry, that can help to cloggig.
Twimmie is correct about the gunk. However, it could be pink eye. Worth a trip to the doctor to see what they say. :)
It is very important that you take her to the doctor. I had it once and it got worse until I went to the doctor. They gave me some antibiotic eye drops to put in my eye.
It is worth a dr. visit. He will give you eye drops
i would call and see what they say
