There are some 1200 mah AAA batteries for sale at the link below. The only down side I know is the price.

1000mAh seems to be the standard although here in the UK a company called Tantronics sells 1100mAh types.

Use as high a capacity type as you can get; this means you will not have to recharge them so often.

Also if equipment has a high current consumption, something with a motor for example, then the batteries will run flat quicker if they had a lower capacity.

I've seen them up to 2500 mAh. Just keep researching the internet. There is no downside that I know of, as long as they are a quality brand.
