HI! i would like to install a dsl in our place. In the philippines, which dsl service would you recommend?
Btw is it true that the one who will install a pldt dsl connection can make a service that "shares" your subscribed dsl service to another location within the same building by using router and sharing the connection per se? i heard this is possible but is it offered here by pldt? is this illegal? could you suggest this to the one who will install the service?
thanks in advance!

i use smart-bro broadband and i am in the metro manila area..i have no problems..when i used to live in Angeles City they offered a lot better (faster) service though it was with someone else and it did cost a lot more...i pay P999/month...for your question about sharing the connection...i dont know if i am understanding it quite right...but from what i get..you want to subscribe to an Internet Service Provider and then use that connection with more than one computer...which of course is NOT illegal (unless you are selling or collecting for that service)..just think of a net cafe..but i dont know if the service man would install that for you...i know my service provider doesnt provide support for installation of that...i use Lynksys router...i supply net to 3 computers and use VOIP (internet phone) through my router..all works fine..though i find that the wireless portion is not that great (due to the power-lines, concrete, etc creating too much interferrance) but maybe that is just me..just go to CD-R King and get a "switch" or "hub" or go some computer place and grab a "router"..installation is ubelievably easy..and if you are still in doubt just ask lots of questions...i havent found a computer store yet that wont help you...maybe other net providers dont allow routers i dont know..but i know smart-bro broadband dont care..they just dont offer support for it..(had to make them aware of what i was doing to register my MAC Address for my internet phone)..if you have any further questions dont be shy to ask...good luck!
A DSL modem will often merely have a million ethernet port. do not purchase one by way of fact it wil not artwork at the same time with your ISP, merely sign in and use the only they provide you. Hook that as much as a router or a change which grants you 4, 8, sixteen, 32 ports or much greater. yet a retard entertainment looky play container merely desires one,
The 'sharing' is not offered by PLDT because it is illegal but is being done by some unscrupulous linemen for a fee.
So far, I have tried PLDT and GLOBE, and prefer the former.
Smart Broadband. It is offered in remote areas also.
you got a good answer from pbasister up there.
i havent used any dsl from over there. but yes, i know somebody who is using globe & says its ok.
