One doesn't "get schizo", they might develop it over time for a number of reasons
My sister has this disorder, she also has epilepsy and the two disorders are closely tied for some reason or another.
There are many different strains of schizophrenia and it is not as uncommon as one might think. Paranoia is extremely common but multiple personality is not.
Personality disorders can be common where one might pretend they are someone else however.
Do you mean schizophrenia? If it's going to happen to you, it occurs in your late teens or early 20s. You start developing paranoid thoughts or delusions or hallucinations. It's not a good thing.
You can meet someone with it if you volunteer at a home or nonprofit for the mentally ill.
You could also watch the movie, "A Beautiful Mind" and it will give you a pretty good idea.
Besides most people I have developed schizophrenia from a more "Ripe" age. Schizophrenia is a terrible schizoaffective disorder. You do not want it! It makes life really hard. I have undiffrentiated schizophrenia so I have most symptoms. I don't have as many positive symptoms as most do. Pro tip: Schizophrenia patients always need a laugh. Ps: it's very hard to sleep, smile, and live
