Hi! I am planning on moving to SF from Salinas this Fall to study and I was wondering what the student life was like up there? i know that I basically am just in love with the city and i'm stoked to move there but is it very student-friendly or is it more neutral?
I have some friends moving up there as well. Do you think it would be wise for four of us to rent an apartment together? Would it be cheaper, likely that we find one?
Oh and lastly, I have relatives in San Jose, would it just be liek ridiculous to try to commute every morning and hold a job in SJ? My parents think so.. but just wondering if anyone has that experience.
Okay thanks, sorry about all the questions :)

student life is great. san francisco is a big city with lots of clubs, shopping scenes and tons of parks. sf is overall people friendly. always something to do. embarcadero is where the college students usually go party. u will have fun here..
apartments are hard to find. splitting four way will might still leave you with 800 monthly. try park merced its close to sfsu and ccsf.
keeping a job in sj? its a bit crazy but if ur willing to make that painful trips daily then go ahead. if u live near sfstate then id suggest getting mall jobs in either serramonte, tanforan or just in stonestown mall (u can walk ther form park merced apts.)
Yes it is student friendly. And yeah, have roommates, renting is expensive in the city so you'll save a lot of money. AND YES, I'm sorry, that would be ridiculous. There are plenty of job opportunities in the city, or even Marin!
