Facing Chapter 5-11 discharge from Army for a condition that existed prior to service (EPTS) during AIT.
Condition: Adjustment Disorder with mixed anxiety and depressed mood.
Question:
(1)- I have the option to be retained, what is the possibility of this (DA 4707)? My condition has been deemed one that qualifies for retainment by medical professionals and I do not want to be discharged.
(2)- Since I am a reservist, I've read a few articles saying that I will be REFRAD'ed back to my unit. If this is true, does this mean that my unit has the authority to discharge me completely from the Army or does my AIT command have that discretion. Also, if I do get REFRAD'ed back to my unit, can they send me back to complete my training?
Thank you for any and all answers! Hopefully, I get to stay in!

Here is the skinny
They will REFRAD you back to your unit. It will then be up to your USAR CoC to decide what to do with you.
And honestly...in today's environment..they will simply put you out with an ELS.
No need to waste more time and money on a person when, 1, we are in the process of downsizing..and, 2, there are 10 people in line behind you to take your spot.
99.9% chance they are going to put you out.
Went thought this same problem you have to know how to handle it and drive on if you are worried then seek an answer from the DR. and you will be suprised with it your recods can only be relessed by you.
