That engine is probably near it's end of life but it will certainly give you adequate warning in the form of unusual noises or excessive oil consumption well before a catastrophic failure. As long as it is quiet and not sending blue smoke signals out the tailpipe you should be able to depend on it for extended trips - just keep a close eye on the oil and coolant levels.

It all depends on how well it was taken care of, for example proper tuneups were done, oil changed frequently, air filer and more. It it feels, sounds and runs strong then it might last a while. Keep up with the Maintenance and it will last even longer.
