I know when the total voltage inside a neuron reaches a certain level, it fires. But does it need all the dendrites except one to affect the one, or does it only need some of them to affect it? It it only needs some of the dendrites to reach the level, do all the other dendrites fire? Or only one, depending on the combination of inputting dendrites? Thank you for any help you can be.

I believe the dendrites receive the nerve impulse, it is the axon terminal that releases neurotransmitters towards the next dendrite. The Action Potential does generate voltage but I never really understood how that ties in with the neurotransmitters.
