Hi, I am wondering which of my two setups would render best with Cinema 4D / After Effects.
Custom built PC:
AMD Phenom II x2 545 @ 3.0GHz
Nividia GTX 550 Ti
Kingston HyperX Blu 4GB @ 1333MHz
Vs
Acer Travelmate laptop:
Intel Core i5 M 480 ( Quad Core ) @ 2.67GHz
Nivida Geforce GT540M 1GB
4GB 1333Mhz Ram
Thanks :)
Update:Just ran a test render, with 120 frames and super high particles.
PC Render time: 12 Min
Laptop Render time: 9 Min
I'd say my PC lacks ram, I am thinking of getting 12 GB 1600 MHz and a ( outdated ) AMD Phenom II x6 1075T @ 3.0GHz
Thanks for the opinions!

The second should render faster for C4D because Intel has better floating point performance and the C4D renderer can use multiple cores quite well so you get significantly more performance with a quad core processor than with a dual core processor. I'm not sure about AE and how it uses the GPU for rendering.
If you have to choose between these two, than of course the Custum built PC.
But I would recommend at least 8GB of RAM or even better 16GB RAM. After Effects really needs a lot of RAM if you want to work efficiently. If you can afford a better CPU, then I would go for an Intel Core i7.
The custom built PC, of course. You will also be able to expand the PCs capabilities more than the laptop.
Custom built PC is best. and the pc is more faster than laptop,
laptop temperature increase faster, but you can work on pc for a long time.
