Yu Yu Hakusho, two different series?
I was watchign a old faviorite of mine called Yu Yu Hakusho, and for the most part, was pretty epic
then I noticed that they're were episiodes I didn't reconize and then it seemed i had missed episodes
are there different series that are done differently or am I just going insaine?

There is only one series of Yu Yu Hakusho. The reason some episodes are unfamiliar is probably because:
A: Some content was edited when it was shown on television (remember that chick Yusuke fought when they were breaking into that black market mansion to save Yukina? yeah it was a he-she or something and they cut out the part where he explained that, similar pervy or extremely violent parts were edited)
B: Most of the 4th season was never aired on television. All the episodes dealing with the ending of Yusuke's battle with Sensui and Yusuke's training in the demon world were never shown, so this could be why you do not remember them.
It might because when they aired them on tv they were edited for the most part
There is only one as far as I know.. lol
It has 112 episodes in total.
