1992 sea ray boggs down under load?
My 92 has a 4.3 mercruise motor. It starts great and revs up to redline. When put under load of any amount it boggs down and won't plane out or accelerate. The rpms go to about 2000 and that's it. Two times out of many it did actually speed up but after that it won't anymore. Please I need to fix it. Thanks

First thing to do is to completely empty the fuel tank, then check the filter and put in about 5 gallons of fresh fuel. Put it in the water, and drive pretty hard for ten minutes, to get past the stale fuel and be using fresh fuel. My bet is that the only thing wrong is stale fuel -- fresh fuel will often resolve the problem. Even with StaBil or other stabilizer, after it's a year old, it's only fit for lawn mowers.
