Hi I was asking for some good suggestions for what to sing for my audition for the musical Footloose. I would be auditioning for the role of the pastor in the show and have a strong range of a Low F to a High F (High G if I don't have to hold the note). I will be able to choose 16 bars from the song and it's better if it displays my range as this role has both high and low notes. Auditions are a little over a month from today. Thanks in advance!

As we all know you shouldn't perform really popular or new musical songs for an audition. With that in mind, I'm thinking maybe something like:
"Luck be a Lady" from Guys and Dolls
"Who am I?" from Les Misérables
"Make Them Hear Yo" from Ragtime
"Where is the Life That Late I Led?" from Kiss Me Kate
"Some Enchanted Evening" from South Pacific
"Beautiful Girl" from Singin' in the Rain
"I Want to Make Magic" from Fame
"Grow for Me" from Little Shop of Horrors
I hope this helps and break a leg!

Check out the songs from Chicago. They're all jazz and for altos. My favorite audition songs from there are: "All That Jazz" "Funny Honey" "Roxie" They're all great songs and they make me happy. :3 Look through musical theater songs for young women. You'll most likely find a good one there. I doubt you'll be able to find a really good one for Monday. You probably should have prepared for this in advance, honestly. Just remember, don't be shy. Belt that song as loud as you can, but make it sound good. Break a leg!
