A box with a mass of 0.50kg has an initial velocity of 3.0m/s as it slides down a frictionless incline and then collides with a mass-less spring (k = 4.0N/m) How much is the spring compressed if the box starts at a height of 2.0m.
In the problem the angle of the incline is not given but it appears to be 45 degrees. Thanks in advance.

SE = PE + KEi
½kx² = mg(h+ x*sinΘ) + ½m*Vi²
This assumes the height is measured up from the point where the box first contacts the spring.
The above eq is a quadratic in x, which you can solve, but you DO need Θ to get an answer.
