You should look for accommodations around IFSC or city center near/in around O'Connell St to be close to O2. Well, hotels with addresses in Dublin 1 in general. Just be a bit careful about Parnell Square/Parnell St area - they can get a bit complex at night in parts of them.
Temple Bar and Westmoreland St, and thereabouts, are good central locations too, that are convenient for the city and to O2.
Ballsbridge is not an ideal location to look for an accommodation, as it is nowhere close to O2. Even Christchurch area which is in the city center is a tad too far, because it's on the opposite side of the city area to the O2.

I just had a look - Jury's Inn Custom House (ideal for O2, and the only hotel I can think of right now that does triple room, so you don't need to get a single and a double room) has promotional price for a triple room at 119euro that night. Its sister hotel Jury's Inn Parnell St has also the same price, but it's a bit of a distance walk away (about 15 mins) from Jury's Inn Custom House, in the direction away from the O2.
If you think this is still too pricey, there are hostel around Busaras area, some as cheap as 12-15euro per person per night. Maybe you want to give that a thought?
Don't waste your money paying going there -_- ... Watch it live in high quality on http://ufc93.notlong.com/ ... They have true High Quality streams that use X264 Codec.
They have over 4,000 members and counting!! Don't miss out
I was there last October... I would recommend checking out the website BookMe dot com. You can compare ALL the reputable travel ticket sites, and save money. Good luck!

Look on Gardiner St for a decent B&B, or look outside of the city. You can always get a cab or a bus to the O2 as there are no B&Bs near to it really.
The hotels near the O2 are expensive and where the stars stay when they are playing... I wouldn't bother even asking!
The Mespil Ballsbridge,central,safe,great breakfast,special deals,nice hotel.I recommend it.
Go to their site and select special requests to get a quote on a triple.
They have room only at the moment at €89 for a standard dble. and €99 B&B
