So recently, my family visited, and my 3 year old cousin got ahold of one of my solid maple drumsticks. he proceeded to hammer my computer monitor (not a laptop), and when i discovered this, I booted the computer up to find the screen having a distorted figure of lines, not across the entire screen, but exactly where he struck it. I was wondering whether there was any other solution to this other than purchasing a separate monitor. If any of you are familiar or have any advice, please don't hesitate to do so. thanks!

It sounds like the screen is physically damaged. If it is a LCD (flat) screen you may be able to purchase a replacement screen and do a replacement, but this takes some computer repair knowledge to ensure that it will work properly. Alternatively, the next best option would be to purchase a completely new monitor - this may even be cheaper than replacing the screen of your existing monitor.
