We'll only Voldemort's piece of soul in Harry dies. You see, when Harry a baby in Godric's Hollow, Voldemort tried to kill him. By that time he already had horcruxes. He tried to kill baby Harry, but the curse rebounded because of Lily Potter's love and sacrifice thus protecting him till he was of age. So when the curse backfired, a piece of Voldemort's soul clung onto the nearest living being which was Harry. That made Harry himself a horcrux, without them knowing so. When Harry walked into the Forbidden Forest to sacrifice himself, Voldemort only killed the part of this own soul but not Harry. So basically he killed one of the horcrux which made him mortal. That's why you see a bloody baby in King's Cross with Dumbledore; that was part of Voldemort's soul.
Yeah, I was really hoping that would happen, but I read the book when it came out, and disappointment, he lives.
The ending would've been super epic and super dramatic and touching if he died, but na, he's the lead character... and we all know lead characters...
I'm guessing Lily's love was still working on Harry or whatever. I don't know. I can't remember the book, haven't seen the movie (no point, I know the ending already), but yeah, if Lily died and protected Harry once with her love, why not one more time? And because voldemort (and thus Horcrux) doesn't have said love, that's the thing that dies in Harry, making him 'dead' for a little while.
It's like cutting off a hand; no more hand, body feels pain. Death curse the Horcrux; no more horcrux, body almost dies. Same logic.
I didnt see the movie. In the book he does die from what I remember(atleast Voldemort thinks he kills him but he actually kills the horcrux he made in harry). He sees Dumbledore and they talk in limbo and harry takes a train. Harry comes back to life and pretends to be dead for a bit. Then SURPRISE he fights Voldemort and Voldemort dies. The book then goes to show Harry and Ginny married and having kid(s) and hermione and ron having kid(s) (i dont remember if the have more than one). And they're kids are all going to hogwarts.

He doesn't die at all, not even in the book.
Voldemort kills the Horcrux Living inside him.
They can't kill off the main character.
I thought he was supposed to be dead, apparently not.
