I just finished reading "Dreamland" by Sarah Dessen, and started reading "Lock and Key," also by Dessen.
As I was reading Lock and Key, the character mentioned a Rogerson. And that he went to jail for assault, didn't talk very much, and went to parties and sold weed.
As I read this, I paused for a moment because the Rogerson from Dreamland was also arrested for abusing his girlfriend and went to parties to sell weed and wasn't a very talkative guy.
--Is it the same Rogerson ?
**I'm in the middle of Lock and Key, so please don't spoil the ending for me. Thanks :)

Probably; in several of her books, she makes references to characters from previous books.
Yes, Sarah Dessen makes references to other characters in her books. This is called 'easter egg'.
For example, Owen and Annabel (Just Listen) visit a club to see a band called Truth Squad play. Truth Squad was Dexter's band in Sarah Dessen's novel This Lullaby. Remy is traveling with Truth Squad during her fall break from Stanford
Yep, same Rogerson. She does this a lot in her books. That's why I read them in the order of how they were published. Lock and key actually has references to EVERY single on of her earlier books, no lie. it was fun to pick them all out when I was reading it.
Well, enjoy the rest of the book :)
Yes, Sarah Dessen likes to tie her stories together in many ways. She does that in every book.
yeah. sarah dessen incorporates small bits of characters into every book. like she mentioned annabell in lock & key, the radio dj [originally from just listen]
yes. sarah dessen writes her books by including some of the characters from the pervious one. start with the first book and you'll understand much better.
I have noticed that Sarah Dessen does this in all of her books. I really enjoy her writing.
