Update:Can you please specify any navigation issues or what you may have liked about the site. (Keep in mind this is the first time I've ever done a website lol, so know it's not perfect with coding and such).

It's an appealing design, but I found some of the text to be difficult to read since it's in an image. You should consider using regular text for better readability.
Also, I get now that it's for publicising an author, but at first glance I wasn't sure what the skull meant. I think it might also look better if you centred the home page.
Additionally, your use of tables is archaic. You should consider switching to CSS. And you're missing a Doctype declaration.

The things such as text inside the image should NOT be used. I use comcast with fast internet and it took me while to load the pages.
