Gin is the spirit most often associated with juniper berries, although it is not actually derived from juniper. Juniper is simply the most prominent flavour added to gin by a process of infusion.
They are used to flavour Gin, but there are a couple of liqueurs with juniper berry flavouring which are gorgeous, especially in cocktails.
Gin, and I love it - mixed with tonic water or even seven up.
