Yes, we should recognize God and His Messiah (Jesus), but He Himself has promised that if we do not follow His teachings, He will reject us. The most important thing is that we live a good life.

All through the Old Testament it stresses the need for a perfect sacrifice.Jesus was that perfect sacrifice.If you don't accept it your sins are not taken away.The animal sacrifices only "covered" the sin .Jesus came and took them away.

Paul said"By grace you are saved ,through faith and not by"good deeds"(works) it is a gift from God lest anyman boast."

We do good deeds because we are saved not to get saved.

God did not bother with the story, man did. And yes confusion is the covering for many. There are deeper meanings to true teachings that anyone can find "if" they seek. For they are built in so to speak.

John 20:31 says, "But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name."

If salvation were not by faith alone, then Jesus' message in the Gospel of John - manifest in the above quotations - would be deceptive, stating that there is one condition for salvation when there are allegedly two - faith and works.

I must emphasize that we are saved by faith for works. Works are not the condition of our salvation, but a consequence of it We are saved not by works, but by the kind of faith that produces works.
