My 94 Nissan Sentra acts just fine when I turn the key to the on position. All of the lights come on like normal but as soon as I try to actually start it the solenoid clicks once and all goes dead. The starter bench tested fine and the battery is good. I feel like the problem is in the starting circuit but I don't really know enough about it to diagnose.

So when you turn to start everything dies dash lights and all? clean up the battery terminals first ( take each one off and clean them up with sand paper make sure they conect propery ) failing that there may be and earth cable off somewhere near the started, failing that maybe the ignition but you would wants to confirm that with a test light
1st check the cables for corrosion & clean thoroughly,if that isn't the culprit the ignition switch may b shorted. If u don't know how to locate the switch log-on at autozone.com with the VIN# of ur Nissan, then on left-side of page scroll down 2 repair guides this is a free service with step-by-step instructions.
