i just recently got injured playing football.(saturday) my trainer thought it was the triad (acl, mcl, meniscus) but another guy, dr. cavanaugh examined it using the lachman test and said its just my mcl, and thennnnn another doctor looked at it and said triad again. i have little if no pain in my knee, some swelling which was at least 8 hours after and very little-moderate instability. wat do u guys think? im getting an mri in a few hours, im just nervous/curious

ACL = + lachmans test (pain or increased movement/instability anteriorly)
MCL = increased laxity in the medial direction (inside of your knee), or pain when pressing on the inner portion of your knee in the joint line
meniscus = pain with weight bearing, possible clicking noises/joint locking
and swelling usually occurs more with ligament injuries. you could have any or all of these, in any combination. unfortunately theres no real way of knowing except an MRI, and sometimes that isn't even accurate. be glad youre getting the MRI though! and good luck!
