Okay so I am a level 26 but my weapons do not do much damage? My smithing is at roughly 90 and everything else is 40-50. However i crafted a Daedric sword and upgraded it to legendary and yet it only does 36 damage. I have the full set of Daedric armor as well, which are also upgraded as high as i can. I have seen people with Daedric armor rated 642 whereas mine is only 82 with weapons doing several hundred damage. What do i need to do to get my armor rating this high, and also weapons? i dont want to have to keep popping potions throughout the gameplay just to do the same. Detailed explanation and/or a link gets a best answer.
Thanks

Good questions.
Your weapon damage has a base, which is the base weapon damage + the damage it gets from smithing. Then it is multiplied by all your % bonuses, and they are all multiplicative. Your skill level gives a bonus = about 40% of your skill level. So if your weapon skill is 50 you get about 20% bonus damage.
The perks in the one handed tree give you another 20% per rank up to 100%.
Also there are item enchants that give a %bonus to one hander damage and you can have 4 of them. If you enchant these at max enchanting with grand souls, you can get 40% or more, but you can probably at least find some items with 25%.
So for you your sword has a base damage of 14 for the item, plus probably 10 or so from smithing for 24.
If you are doing 36 damage, I bet your skill is around 50, and you have 1/5 of the one-hander perk? am I right?
get more of the % damage perk ranks, level up one-handers skill, and find some items with +% damage on them. You will easily get that base damage up above 70-80 and beyond once you do that. Its insane how much % bonuses do in this game.
As for your armor.
A full set of Daedric has a base armor of 108. Upgraded to legendary, it will be like 150+ base. Add in the % armor perks, it's not that hard to get your armor rating very high.
If you have 82 something is wrong. You either arent wearing the pieces when you looked or you are debuffed or something. Even with zero skill you should be at 150+ with that armor and upgrades.
also, FYI, the armor has a hidden cap. at 567 armor rating, you will have the full 80% damage reduction. It cannot go higher. Any armor rating above that is a waste. Once you get to 567 dont bother putting any more perks in straight up armor rating bonuses

Using Enchanting, Alchemy, and Blacksmithing, you can make ridiculous armor and weapons.
Use Alchemy to make Fortify Enchanting and Blacksmithing potions, then use the enchant potions to to make Fortify Blacksmithing armor. Then put on your armor and drink your potions and boom.
I'm using Ancient Nord armor and a Nord hero Battlesxe (Both are Iron equivalent, just looks cooler). Im level 39.
My armor rating is 829. My axe does 599 damage.
A word of advice though. Damage Resistance caps at 80%, which you get at 567 armor. So all armor past 567 is pointless.
if you upgrade the first perk up to 5 you will get the max damage
Idiot. The better your 1 handed skill is/heavy armor skill is, the more effective it is.
Get ~70 1 handed weapons skill and that will be about 70 damage.
Stupid, you have to use your skills that you get for leveling up and use them for one/two handed weapons or bow... So far i'm level 30 and my one-handed sowed (deadric) does 46 damage, and i didn't upgrade all the one-handed weapons skills. When i will i think it will be about 90 or even higher.
