There are TONS of country clubs and banquet halls in the southwestern suburbs. Take out a phone book and look from there. One place out there has a gorgeous indoor waterfall, but I can't remember the name of it: Google "wedding reception Orland Park IL" and it'll probably come up.
We had a beautiful, elegant wedding at Brookfield Zoo, if you're looking for something different. The ceremony was in the newly-built pavilions (they just opened spring 2008), cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in the giraffe house (you have five other choices) and dinner and dancing in one of the banquet rooms, with a balcony looking out over the zoo. Weddings are held after hours, so there aren't a bunch of zoo visitors at your wedding and in your pictures. It was a great venue and we have some fabulous pictures of my husband and me with the animals (elephants, a brown bear who posed behind the glass enclosure, a polar bear who played behind us, giraffes that were smelling my bouquet, etc.). However, if you want something more traditional, there are many choices in Orland and the surrounding suburbs.
There is the Orland Chateau and Silver Lake Country Club -- both of those are pretty nice, but the Orland Park area doesn't have a lot of great options. If you wouldn't mind a 30 minute hike, I'd recommend the Pheasant Run Resort & Spa in St. Charles.
