biotech, gene expression?
I am stuck on a biotech question.....can genes be expressed in a recombinant DNA plasmid from human cancer cells (such as HeLa) in a bacteria, and do they need to include a bacterial promoter, ATG and stop codon in the plasmid that have to be introduced into the bacterial cell in the appropriate function location?

If the gene concened is inserted within the operon, then only one promoter would be required.
But if this gene is inserted at an isolated place then you also have to insert a promoter to make it transcribed
