Im a teen, ive only had my period for like 5 months now and the past day or so my discharge just smells different to me, I dont know why, like before to me the smell didnt bother me, but now it just smells different and it just is bothering me. My discharge is still like clear when I wipe myself but like if it goes in my underwear its yellowish. And I do get itchy down there sometimes but not ridiculously a lot but the past month ive been itching a little little bit more. My period is due today or tomorrow so could it just be because im getting it? I just started using tampons last month. My period is kinda like getting more heavy and in a cycle so maybe this changes too before i go on my period? Im just a little worried. Do you girls think anythings wrong?
Update:and i have another question.. last month when i used tampons it would hurt after a while to use them. My mom told me it was just because i was getting use to them and stretching a little down there. Is this true?

vaginal smell in most cases is a symptom of bacterial vaginosis - you can check all possible causes - see in link below
I think that's normal. I have had the same thing happen to me, and it has never caused any problems. It being yellowish on your underwear is completely normal, I wouldn't worry about it. I personally don't like tampons. I've always found them uncomfortable; you might be the same way. Be careful of how long you wear a tampon. Be sure to change it a few times a day, and I would suggest wearing a pad over a tampon when going to sleep at night. Wearing a tampon for too long can be dangerous!
you might be using the wrong absorbancy. If when you take the tampon out and there is still alot of white thats not blood soaked I would start using a smaller absorbancy. Certain tampons actually make me itch down there. But as far as your discharge making you itch it might be the beginning signs of a yeast infection. I suggest you consult your mom and go from there.
Yellow discharge usually means you have an infection, it sounds like you have a mild yeast infection which is easily treated with a pessary and cream. Tampons are only painful to use if they are not inserted properly make sure when inserting it you arm towards your lower back and push it well in nut make sure they string is left outside lol.
You could be allergic to the soap you use. Try changing it. Or it could be dry skin, You could ask your doctor about it. and see what he/she recommends.
And try using a smaller tampon, their are a lot of brands you can use. Try the plastic container type. Thoes slide in easy. And hopefully it'll feel much better.
Good luck:)
You probably have an infection, and should defnitely get it checked out before it becomes worse. I think it'd be best if you stopped using tampons for right now.
If the smell is bothering you wear a panty liner, and as for your second question your mums right
i completely accept as true with the 1st answer, it incredibly is truthfully standard mine has a greenish tinge to it, and ive been regarded at with out signs and indicators of an infection or something, i assume everyones different ! x
