I went over too a friends house and tried out his Spider 3 and fell in love with it =D, im going to the store to buy one of my own and was wondering if i shoulod pay 400$ for the 150 or 320$ for the 120. i dont do gigs or anything so the high volume isnt a necessity... will the 150 do more than just give me a louder sound? does it effect the quality of my sound overall? Thanks

STAY AWAY FROM SPIDERS. trust me you will regret it later. with that money, you could buy a 40watt tube amp like a peavey on ebay thats like 50x better and maybe even cheaper... 40watts can get plenty of loudness. && higher watts do not equal better sound quality. If you want versatility, get a flextone III. its a solid-state amp, but it still sound decent and can create a huge variety of tones & effects and much better than a crappy spider III.
Well for a blues sound a tube amp has an amazing sound. I would say Marshall but Line 6 is a good maker too. They have both been around the block a few times if you know what I mean. If you are interested in playing blues and you have enough money, buy a tube amp. I didn't have enough money at first and I had to buy a First Act Solid State amp. Buy a Les Paul too. They have an amazing sound and you can get an Epiphone one for an amazing price. The Epiphone guitars are very good. We have one at our house. I play an Ibanez ART300 and an Ibanez Black Beauty copy and they are both amazing. Happy Christmas Eve -Billy
